Ask the Pro10 Ambassador Stylist: Do Pro10 Hair Extensions Shed?

No Bad Hair Days Blog reader Rochama asks: I know a lot of people who have bought Soft Yaki Pro10 made with Ultima for hair weaves. They say the extensions not only shed, but that the ends turned real ugly when they were washed. Is this true?

okelaPro 10 Ambassador Stylist O?kela Neveaux says: When you think about it, even the most expensive weaves shed. Even your own natural hair sheds a bit of shedding with regular combing and brushing, no matter how well you have been caring for your hair.

How the ends of Pro10 extensions stand up to wear depends on how you choose to maintain your weave. Here are a few tips for caring for a Pro 10 weave:

curlingiron1 o Are you wrapping, rolling, or setting the hair at night? This keeps it from tangling, which causes shedding.
o Are you using a heat of more than 266 degrees? If so, you can damage the ends.
o Were your friends’ Pro10 extensions cut with a razor? That’s not recommended.
o After being washed was the weave conditioned and not over dried? Pro10 made with Ultima should be dried on a low heat setting? A moisturizing conditioner and low heat help to prevent the ends from drying out.

I hope this helps, and please read our FAQs and easy care instructions for Pro10 made with Ultima Protein Hair.
